 You must know that every app stored some sort of cache files in your android device for fast loading. If you  use a high-end devices  with more than 6gb ram than you will not suffer much problem. But of have a devices with 2,3,4,5or 6gb ram, then it is very necessary to limit background processes. Your android operating system runs the processes according to the restrictions set by the company. But there is a way to restrict the background processes. 

But limiting background processes doesn't mean that that you will not get get any notification from email and other messaging apps.
